The one child policy was implimented in China to stop the rapid growth China was experiencing. Each family is supposed to only birth one child. Three negative affetcs of this policy are; now there arnt enough people to fill the jobs, children may be growing up more selfish due to lack of sharing with siblings and familys that have mroe than one child either must pay a heavy fine or sadly register there child as someone elses. Now their are also some definate upsides to this law. Children have more attenction from their parents, China is able to keep population growth down(which means less starvation and poverty) and generations growing up after the one child policy fell they have more freedoms than their parents since the policy has been working out very well.

  2. The one child policy was used to keep the population from out growing its resources. The dis advantages are that Women aren't respected, There aren't enough people for jobs, and there is and imbalance in gender (There are more boys than girls). The few benefits are that the country is protected from poverty, Children get a better education, and less people starve.

  3. Some benefits of the one child law is a lower population rate- china claims they have suppressed 400million births since the law was enacted. Another benefit is the only children get more attention and can reap more benefits from the now successful industrial nation. A third and surprising benefit is the women's lib movement that has occurred because the baby girls that are kept are able to receive an education that normally wouldn't be available to them if they had brothers.

Three negative affects of the population law is that some families only want a son so girls are being aborted, killed, or put up for adoption in high numbers. Another negative affect is that now the population rate has slowed so much that there is concern that there will not be enough workers to keep China's booming economy alive. The third negative affect is that a whole generation is growing up with out any siblings at all which could cause weird behavioral issues like being unable to share, or not being as social. Many parents in China are concerned about the latter.

The only one child policy was implemented to help maintain the population of China and to keep it from the rapid growth it was experiencing. Some major advantages of this policy would be:
    1) The higher education of the child through more attention and expectations of that child so that they can succeed in their life.
    2) The country is protected from poverty for there is no problem regarding over population and out growing their availability of land.
    3) It prevents starvation because of the lesser need for food because each family only has one child.
The negative outcomes of this policy are:
    1) There are not enough people to be able to fill all the jobs that are needed to be filled
    2) There is a large lopsided difference in gender where the male population greatly outweighs the female.
    3) There is hardly any respect for the women of the country because and most families prefer to birth a boy.

  5. The one child policy was enacted in China to limit the population growth that the country had been experiencing.
Three positive outcomes from the policy include the slowing of population growth. The target goal in 2000 was to have lower than 1% population growth for the nation. Another positive impact it had was the women who are the only child are gaining more attention and help than if they had a brother who would have received all the attention. Women are gaining a new perspective and gaining education. A third influence is that there are more opportunities for the single child to excel because they get more attention and more funding from the family.
The negatives include that people have been hurting or murdering their second children in order to still receive the benefits from the government. Another includes that farmers in rural areas are not getting the help they need that they would have had from a second or more children. The third negative is that people are beginning to want more freedom and want the decision of amount of children to be their own and not a decision by the government.

The one child law was implemented because of rising concern of population increases. In China many families in rural areas had many kids in order to maintain their farming life style. Three positive affects were the lowered population, more resources to go around, and each child did not have to compete for education. Three negetive affects were one, the families that were against keeping the girls, left them to be adopted or in an orphanage, the pressure on women to produce the "prefered child" increased incredibly, and the moral aspects of peoples feelings were at risk.

the one child policy currently in effect in china is viewed as completely sexist, as most people in china prefer a male son to a female daughter. women will go as far as getting an abortion as soon as they find out the sex of the child if it is not a male. but, when they do decide to keep the baby girl, she gets the best education because she does not have to compete with her male sibling. this in effect has given the women of china a chance to revolt in their own way-more women are getting educated than ever before because those families who do chose to keep the girl are giving her the best education because there is no competition for time or money. another upside to the one child policy is that it should slow down china's population enough so that the country can better sustain its people.

  8. The purpose of the one child rule is to limit the amount of children a family can have. They had to enforce the law because of over population in China. Three positive effects of the rule is lowered population, the one child is then pushed to achieve greatness and natural resources. Three negative effects of the law are, there aren't enough jobs, everyone would be a single child, and the last effect is that they have to pay a large fine if another child is born.

  9. The one child policy implemented in China was created in order to limit the rapid population growth that had been experienced in the past.
    Advantages:
    1) Obviously the one child policy has achieved what it intended to do, limit population growth
    2) The second advantage is the better education that Chinese children are receiving.
    3) Less people means less mouths to feed. So China does not have to grow or import as much food as in previous years.
    Disadvantages:
1)The one child policy is an extreme limit on personal freedom on individuals.
    2) The Chinese population is aging and does not have sufficient youth to replace the elders
    3) Many Chinese parents want male children to pass on the family name and sometimes abandon or put female children up for adoptions rather than keep them.

  10. Deng Xiaoping, who succeeded Chairman Mao in 1976, believed that overpopulation could potentially have negative effects on China's societey and economy. This is the opposite of what Mao believed in, which was encouraging the rapid population growth in order to become a more powerful nation. For over thirty years the one child policy has been in effect, and recently there has been opposition to the law.

Advantages include less poverty, better education, and more uniformity. Disadvantages are that there are more boys than girls as a result of infanticide, women aren't treated as equally, and it is creating social tension.

  11. The purpose of the one child policy is to keep the population of China in check. This law was put into place to due the over population of China. There are three positives and negatives. Three positives are lower population, less use of natural resources and healthier economy. Three negatives are not enough jobs even with the policy, there will be only one child to each family, and there are fees for excess children.

  13. The one-child policy was implemented in China mainly in response to the continuous population growths that have been taking place. Three advantages of this policy are: 1) there is less poverty due to the decline in starvation 2) it prevents starvation because one child will not have to compete for their share of food and 3) all children will be provided with a better education. Three disadvantages are: 1) many jobs won't be able to get filled because the population is lower 2) if people choose to have another child, they have to pay money to have it and keep it otherwise that second child will be murdered and 3) many families are hoping the outcomes are having a boy are high because they would rather have a male continue the family name on successfully but if a female appears, then they are often given away to other families or are put up for adoption which isn't right.

The one child policy in China was implemented to keep reign on the continuous rise in the population numbers. Three advantages of this policy are 1)there is less poverty in the country becauseo f the decline of people to house and feed 2)The child gets more overall attention from both parents than sharing it with another sibling 3)another adavntage is that only child girls get a higher education than if they were to have a boy sibling, letting girls achieve common goals for us such as going to college and becoming what they want to be when they grow up. Three disadvantages of the one child policy would be 1) when childern grow up in china it becomes their job to take care of their parents and grandparents so when they cant go out and provide for the family because they have to take care of family they will suffer 2) many of the jobs in china arent able to be filled because of the low amount of young poeple able to work 3) the last affect is that childern grow up selfish and non socail with others this concerns parents about futures of their childerns relationships and job careers.

  15. The one child policy was implemented in response to increased worry over the effects of massive population growth in China. Although the one child policy may seem harsh to some, there are many advantages to having it such as; children are receiving a far better education being the only child in a household, there has been a reduction in poverty, and China's consumption of natural resources and environmental impact has gone down due to the population decline. When it comes to this policy I believe the negative outweigh the positives. Three examples include the increased amount of pressure on women to bear a male child, children also have an increased amount of pressure to take care of their older family members without help from other siblings, and families who have a second child sometimes have to list their child under a different name to avoid paying the heavy fees that come with having a second child.

  16. The one child policy implemented in China was created to limit the rapid population growth that had been experienced in the past.
    Advantages:
    1) It has limited population growth
    2) It has provided better education for Chinese children
    3) With less people, then there is less food that they have to buy. Which means means China does not have to grow or import as much food as in previous years.
    Disadvantages:
1)The one child policy is extremely unfair becasue it puts a limit on personal freedoms.
    2) The Chinese population isn't getting younger, it is getting older. This means that there isn't as many kids to replace the older people.
    3) Many Chinese parents boys so that their family name can be passed on, but the ones that have girls sometimes abandon them or put them up for adoption rather than keep them.

  17. The one child policy in china was adopted in China to limit population growth in a nation that is still very crowded. Some advantages to the one child policy is that it has limited population growth in the country which means less mouths to feed and not so crowed areas. Another advantage to the one child policy is that Chinese children get a better education because there are not very many children which means smaller class sizes and schools. One last advantage to the one child policy is that China's natural resources are being preserved in that there is a smaller population so far less products must be produced. This policy however has some disadvantages as well. Women are extremely pressured to have a male child because he will carry on the family name so this leaves girls abandoned or put up for adoption. This policy also puts a lot of pressure on the children because they are the ones that have to care for there parents and grandparents all by themselves when they get older. Another disadvantage is that families that do have another child will sometimes have to list that child under a different name name to avoid the heavy fees of having a second child.

  18. The one child policy was implemented in China because population was going to affect socila prosperity in China. This was good in some ways because this dropped the population which consequently improves the level of consumption on the world as a whole. On the other hand this law seems to block the human right for children, but with China being a communist country this is not considered an unusual thing.

The one child policy was adopted by China in order to decrease the CBR and control population. The benefits of this policy was that it did succeed in lowering fertility rates which resulted in fewer people in poverty and fewer people starving. Another benefit is that it allows better education for children. The detriments the the policy are that it is limiting freedom, girls are being abandoned as parents want a boy, and there are'nt enough people for jobs.

  20. Whole point of One-child policy is to control chinas population. I did kinda work but totally violate human rights. It kept contol of the population and there food supply and everything else supply met everyones needs. It downfall is the fact china people were killing there childern if they had a girl, and then many pressures on this one child also made this a bad decison.

The one-child policy was implemented in China because they wanted to avoid and reduce the rapid population growth in the country that has caused problems in the past. Some advantages of this would be control over the population and also their food supply. This also helped lowering fertility rates and resulted in less poverty. Disadvantages, though, are if a person was against keeping their daughter, that child ends up in an orphanage. Also, the pressures of having the preferred sex of a child went up dramatically and, when the parents are older, they only have one child to help take care of them which puts a lot of pressure on that one child.
